Metals Guide: Fine Silver vs. Sterling Silver – What’s the Diff?
Fine Silver or Pure Silver (99.9%) is Brilliant, bright, hypoallergenic & highest in tarnish resistance. We use this metal for our original one-of-a-kind pieces and often accent them with very lustrous and colorful patinas. The below bracelets’ pendant and the chain have been created using Fine Silver (except for the clasp, it’s Sterling Silver).
Sterling Silver is the most common metal used in silver jewelry. The silver purity is 92.5% with 7.5% copper or other alloys added for strength. We often use this for our chains and findings.
