April Is All Things Beautiful
Awww…. April what a beautiful month!
I discovered through my hours of scouring the internet, “April” has two main Roman origins that, in my opinion, represent the same thing.
The first origin: April comes from the Latin word “Aprillis” which translates “to open”. It marked a time when festivals were planned in honor of the bountiful earth. Large gatherings of maskless people would get together and stand closer than six feet to celebrate life.
The second origin (my favorite): April comes from the Latin word “Aprillis”, which is derived from the name Aphrodite. You know, the Greek Goddess of love, beauty, passion, pleasure, and over a quarrel, ultimately causing the Trojan War. Yes, that Aphrodite. Myth has it that when she was born, she was laid in a beautiful seashell and set sail to Cyprus. She arrived in the month of April, and as she walked upon the island, the ground sprung with flowers beneath her feet. Love it!
Of course, the Romans would name the month after the Goddess that represents love and beauty. April is a time when all of life opens back up. People are out enjoying the weather, and there is beauty blooming and blossoming everywhere.
In short, the month of April represents all that is beautiful and brings forth renewal, hope, and the promise of beauty and growth.
To add to April’s beauty, its birthstone is the Diamond!
A diamond is made of pure carbon, one of the hardest materials found deep within the earth’s mantle. The only thing that can shape and cut a diamond is another diamond! Its name is derived from the Greek word “adamas” meaning invincible. It has been known since antiquity as the “Stone of Invincibility”, bringing victory, superior strength, fortitude, and courage to its bearer.
Diamonds are rare and precious stones that are cut and shaped to reveal their inner beauty. As a symbol of purity, innocence, and fidelity, the diamond is the perfect stone to unite those in marriage as a sign of love, faith, and devotion.
This perfect structure is a great conductor and amplifier of energy. A diamond will amplify the energy that is predominant at the time. For example, a positive frame of mind will be amplified which in turn attracts like energy; the same goes for negative energy. So be careful!
A diamond’s clarity can help bring focus to the mind, strengthen abstract thinking, thus increasing our ability to manifest effectively. Diamonds have a high spiritual vibration that helps to open all chakra channels. Their energy works from within to unite the mind and body as a spiritual being, thus awakening all types of spiritual doors.
